Overseas Charity Programmes

To participate in international disaster relief, one must possess the right set of skills and have plentiful of experience in charity work. During disaster relief, Tzu Chi volunteers are dispatched in batches to participate in various programmes that range from short, medium to long term.

When rebuilding programmes in disaster-hit regions are completed, helping locals to resume their daily lives, Tzu Chi will begin long-term programmes to lay the foundation for providing charity, medicine and education services, as well as to strengthen community volunteerism through training of local volunteers.

Singapore as a thriving global hub is safe from natural disasters, whereby its strategic geographical location provides opportunities for local volunteers to participate in international relief efforts in countries such as Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Laos, Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, India and Nepal, etc.

Additionally, Tzu Chi Singapore volunteers have been providing support to areas in the region with Tzu Chi presence, assisting in various programmes like free clinic, volunteer trainings and aid distributions. Importantly, Tzu Chi Singapore volunteers guide and share their experiences with local volunteers, to inspire more volunteers to join us to work for the greater good.

Currently, Tzu Chi Singapore provides assistance in the administration of Tzu Chi’s operations and programmes in Sri Lanka, Nepal and India.
