A Tzu Chi sister brought her young daughter-in-law to see Master Cheng Yen because her son and daughter-in-law often quarrelled and talked about divorcing. She loved both of them, so she asked Master Cheng Yen if the incompatibility of Bazi (Four Pillars of Destiny in Chinese astrology) was the reason for their frequent quarrelling.
The Master answered:
If both of them are willing to change their temper, their Bazi will be compatible. They should wish themselves well regularly.
Master Cheng Yen also advised the daughter-in-law to recite the name of the Goddess of Mercy frequently and to love her friends and family with the same love as the Goddess of Mercy. In time, not only will her temper change, but she will also be able to influence her husband.
