Someone asked, “What should we do when we hear negative rumours within our team?”

The Master answered:

Keep your heart open. Filter the noise of verbal arguments, treat worldly disputes as education, and do not gossip about people’s affairs. First, do what you should do, and then think about how to influence others.

When someone criticises or talks about a problem, reassure them wisely and then get to the bottom of the matter. If there is a problem or a mistake, instead of trying to find out who is to blame, think of ways to improve the situation and resolve it as soon as possible so that the mistake does not happen again.

Tzu Chi is a cultivation ground established among sentient beings, where the master shows the way of cultivation, and it is up to the disciples to practice the way. In this worldly cultivation ground, everyone shares the same thought of love, but each person has their habits, which deters people from being united at the same time. Therefore, we must analyse a situation with wisdom and face life with an open heart to be happy every day.
