Many people have been puzzled by those two pieces of wood. It is not disbelief that we should fear, but rather superstition. Superstition often leads to irrational and harmful behaviours, while disbelief tends to foster rational thinking. When sceptics encounter the truth, they are more likely to recognise and embrace it.
