Imparting Knowledge and Character Education to Give Children a Hopeful Future

The Tzu Chi-funded preschool is open! Children aged 3 to 5 in Khudabagar will begin their learning journey here. The thought of starting the school came about from an encounter with three siblings.

Tzu Chi Malaysia volunteer, Tang Kiat Beng: When we went on a home visit, we found that the two eldest daughters, a 9-year-old and a 7-year-old, did not go to school at all. After communicating with Community Learning Centre, we learned that there are many children in this village who do not go to school. This is also because there are many caste problems in this village and parents have a weak concept of education. So, we thought that children's education should be made accessible.

Parent: We don’t have money to send our children to school. Now, I am happy that we can send our children here to study.

To let this group of students adapt to schooling life, a five-day trial run was specially arranged before the classes started. Currently, they have classes six days a week, from 10am to 3pm.

Teacher, Nirupa Chaudhary: The children are coming regularly. They will learn simple English alphabets and words before learning Nepali letters because it’s difficult to write in Nepali.

Thank you so much to those who prepared food for us

The children have an interesting life here, they not only learn languages but also religious rituals, health education and life etiquette.

The preschool is officially inaugurated.

With the love and blessings from the public, it is hoped that these children will grow up with good education to lay down a solid foundation for their future.
